How to Refer Patients to MSK RAC

Rapid Access Clinics in Ontario operate under standardized Ministry of Health clinical pathways. Care is 100% OHIP-covered. All patient assessments require a formal medical referral from a licensed Ontario primary care physician or nurse practitioner.

Standard Referral Channels:

Ocean eReferral Network: Search for "Musculoskeletal Rapid Access Clinic" or "RAC-LBP" in your EMR health map.
Regional Central Intake: Submit standardized MSK referral forms to your local hospital or regional RAC coordination hub.
Arthur CareNexus Portal: Registered provider groups may submit and track referrals through integrated CareNexus digital queues.

Notice for Patients: Self-referrals are not accepted under the provincial RAC framework. If you are experiencing persistent low back, hip, or knee pain, please consult your family physician or nurse practitioner to request an MSK RAC referral.

Is there any fee for patients to be assessed at an MSK RAC?

No. The Ontario Musculoskeletal Rapid Access Clinic program is funded by the Ontario Ministry of Health. All assessments and personalized management plans conducted through the RAC framework are 100% covered under OHIP with a valid health card.
